Who we’re looking for:
Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Financial Officer will be the senior-most financial executive in the company. The CFO will be responsible for managing and driving all aspects of the company’s financial functions, operations, processes, and infrastructure. He/she will create, implement and drive the overall framework throughout the company that delivers strategic insight into the company’s ongoing performance across all functional and business areas.
The CFO will have oversight over all internal investment decisions and will be responsible for managing the monthly and quarterly closing activities and the accurate reporting of results and commensurate filings with all federal and regulatory authorities.
As the senior-most financial executive of Skillz and financial spokesperson, the CFO will represent the company on investor calls, interfacing with the public markets and investment community on behalf of Skillz, and represent the company at all other investor-related conferences and activities.
What you’ll do:
- Oversee all financial functions, processes, and infrastructure as well as investor relations and corporate development
- Leverage financial and operational metrics and analytics to make internal and external investment decisions on behalf of the company
- Anticipate business issues and drive good decision-making through sound financial management
- Develop and implement business process improvement initiatives and strategies that create operational leverage for the business
- Identify and drive opportunities for revenue growth and cost reduction
Desired Experience and Professional Qualifications:

- Experience overseeing all areas of a highly performant finance and accounting organization for a multi-hundred million dollar entrepreneurial company
- Demonstrated ability to consistently make high quality investment decisions
- Ability to build highly scalable processes
- Experience effectively hiring and managing a team as well as selecting and managing outside vendors
