À propos du rôle
En tant que chef(fe) d’équipe, tu seras appelé(e) à intervenir à plus d’un niveau ; tu agiras comme facilitateur(trice) aux niveaux opérationnel, humain et technique. Tout en maintenant un bon niveau d’expertise de ton domaine, tu auras à t’impliquer auprès de ton équipe et la soutenir tout au long de son développement chez Beenox. Ton sens du leadership te permettra d’amener ton équipe à se dépasser et à créer le matériel AAA nécessaire pour les franchises d’Activision. Tu devras également bâtir et entretenir des relations avec nos différents partenaires d’affaires et agir à titre d’ambassadeur.
En tant que Chef(fe) d’équipe programmation engin, ta mission principale sera de superviser le développement de différents mandats autour du moteur de jeu. Tu seras responsable de voir à l’amélioration, à la performance et à la stabilité des différentes capacités de l’engin. De plus, tu travailleras en étroite collaboration avec les différents studios d'Activision ainsi que des partenaires externes pour certains mandats. Finalement, tu devras t’assurer que ton équipe assure une surveillance des technologies du jeu vidéo et tu seras partie prenante de cette évolution.

About the role
As a team leader, you will intervene on several levels, acting as a facilitator at the operational, human and technical levels. While maintaining a good degree of expertise in your field, you will also look after your employees and support their work during their time with Beenox. Your leadership skills will help your team excel and build the AAA material encouraged of Activision's franchises. You will also be encouraged to build and handle relationships with our various business partners and to serve as a company ambassador.
As a Lead Engine Programmer, your main mission will be to supervise the development of various mandates surrounding the game engine. You will be responsible for the improvement, performance and stability of the various capabilities of the engine. In addition, you will work closely with Activision's various studios as well as external partners for certain mandates. Finally, you will ensure that your team monitors video game technologies and you will be part of this evolution.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that work is implemented according to the production plan and the programming department’s priorities;
- Ensure the development of functionalities in the game engine: file management, peripheral management, user data management, memory management, network management, 1st party platform management, telemetry, etc;
- Supervise the optimization and improvement of the systems, maintenance of the code base, integration of development kits, etc;
- Resolve technical issues and problems that might slow down production;
- Work actively with internal and external partners on company projects;
- Ensure excellent communication between your team, production and other departments;
- Participate in project planning meetings and in setting priorities;
- Mentor and guide team members in their professional growth;
- Write and conduct performance evaluations for your team members;
- Approve work schedules and times sheets;
- Supervise the quality of work being produced by your team;
- Participate in the recruiting process.
Requirements
- 5+ years of programming experience in the video game industry;
- At least 3 completed video game projects;
- Proficiency in C and/or C++ language and real-time systems;
- In-depth knowledge of the different systems of a game engine;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (French and English);
- Good understanding of the technical limitations of video games;
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
