What you’ll do
The Art Lead will oversee content on cutting-edge photorealistic projects across industries such as film, tv, manufacturing & games. Above all this role requires an exceptional eye for visual quality.
In this role, you will
- Lead a team of sr. artists to deliver industry-leading, real-time photoreal content and final pixels within the allocated performance budget.
- Responsible for the quality and timely delivery of all content, from hero assets to lighting to the final rendered frame.
- Think outside the box to maintain visual excellence even when under challenging production conditions.
- Provide feedback to artists and external partners, with a focus on artistic execution using visual sketches, paint-overs, and mock-ups.
- Interpret the needs of all development disciplines such as design and engineering into amazing final visuals.
- Establish the aesthetic, style and tone for a project in cooperation with stakeholders and external partners.
- Attends all relevant meetings to promote effective communication throughout the production team.
What we’re looking for
- 8+ years experience as an art director, VFX/CG supervisor, art lead or production designer in a game or film studio.
- Excellent visual eye. Ability to look at a WIP CG frame and decisively determine the steps needed to improve its realism.
- Proven experience supervising the entire art aspect of a project - from concept design to final pixels.
- Strong artistic eye for composition and an ability to think in three dimensions
- Great use of colors, light and shadow.
- Excellent ability to inspire, motivate and develop a team
- User-focused, passionate, scrappy, solutions-focused, and innovative. These traits equal success at Epic and influence everything we do.
