Character Artist

Overview

id Software, part of the ZeniMax Media Inc. family of companies, is looking for a talented and experienced Character Artist to join our award winning AAA studio.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Art Director to maintain a stunning visual style and quality
• Collaborate with artists, designers, and engineers to bring visually compelling characters to life
• Model and texture high-poly characters
• Manage delivery of project’s characters and assets on schedule
• Assess team’s needs in requesting tools to simplify workflow
• Review team member's performance
• Work with guidelines provided by other departments to ensure quality, playability, and performance

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industry experience
• Shipped multiple AAA titles
• Examples of work demonstrating an understanding of form, silhouette, shape, texture, color, and lighting
• Proficient in modern modeling/art packages such as (Max, Modo, ZBrush, 3DCoat, Mudbox, and Photoshop)
• Ability to create a low-poly model within poly budget and efficiently unwrap the UV's for texturing
• Strong and relevant 3D and 2D toolsets
• Self-motivated, but able to accept feedback and direction
• Team player with a strong work ethic and a collaborative attitude
• Good time management skills and efficient development processes

Preferred Skills

• Traditional art skills including sketching, illustration, and painting
• Passion for games and gaming
• Familiarity with ZeniMax games, characters, brands and universes
