Overview
Are you interested in creating something new and exciting that will help reshape the landscape of video games? Do you love creating the look and feel of game characters and bringing them to life?
If your passion lies in driving the visual look of a game through characters and fantasy beasts while pushing the limits of a well-known stylized AAA project, then we would love to speak with you. Hardsuit Labs is scouring the lands for a seasoned 3D Character Artist who has a broad understanding of bringing characters to life from prototype to fully realized in-game models. Come alongside us as we help reimagine what is possible in the world of character art.
What You Will Be Doing
- Collaborate with the Art Director and other project vision holders to create and implement highly engaging characters
- Prototype character models from concept and implement the character model through processes and pipelines
- Use various 3D software to craft high-quality AAA bipeds and various fantasy creatures
- Play an important role with various departments in problem-solving and finding creative solutions
- Be engaging and build relationships with various internal and external team members
What You Will Bring
- 4+ years' experience creating characters for high-profile games
- Excellent communication, documentation, and self-management skills
- Ability to build positive, empathetic, and self-aware working relationships
- Willingness to keep up with new technological developments in character creation and the games industry
- Deep knowledge of industry-standard tools, including Zbrush, Substance, Autodesk Suite, etc.
- Experience with Unreal Engine is strongly preferred
Nice to Haves
- At least one shipped AAA title
- Previous experience building and/or iterating on character pipelines

- Pay Range for this role is (70,000 - 95,000 DOE)
