Character Artist

Your Mission
Your Mission is to create high quality and detailed character models. You will use your knowledge of anatomy, 3D modeling, skeletal rigging, and mesh deformation to help create characters for our AAA titles.
* This is a 1 year assignment with the possibility for extension.
- Work with the character team to create high quality character assets for our games. Hi-poly sculpts, in-game models, textures, materials, 3d printing – we do it all
- Create additional character assets such as hair, clothing, accessories, armor, and weapons.
- Participate in team art reviews to bring the whole team’s quality up and see our work in the context of the game as a whole.
- Enthusiastically seek out feedback from the Art Director and Character Art Lead.
- Create, implement, and verify assets in game following topological, memory, and performance guidelines.
- Research and experiment with new techniques and software, teach learnings to the rest of the team/company
- Help promote a great work environment within and outside of the team with a positive attitude and love of art and games.
- Collaborate with our counterparts in Animation, Rigging, Design, and Graphics programming
- Manage your own tasks and schedule within the greater team goals, determining the proper priorities for reaching milestones.
Player Profile- You posses a portfolio demonstrating the following:
- A strong understanding of subtle anatomy and well executed likenesses
- Ability to work in a range of styles
- Well executed and appealing sculpts created in Zbrush or Mudbox
- The ability to create game ready, animatable characters in Maya, 3DS Max or equivalent.
- Experience creating realistic and stylized PBR textures using Substance Painter and Photoshop or comparable software
- Garment creation using Marvelous Designer or equivalent
- Ability to integrate new toolsets into your workflow quickly and efficiently. We work with many different in-house and off the shelf tools. We care less about adhering to standard set tools, and more about efficiency, ease of use and the final product.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in game development as a character artist specializing in organic forms as well as hard surface modeling .
