Capture and Production Artist

Today, the biggest problem facing most large 3D studios is that content takes too long and costs too much to create. Meanwhile, the demand for content continues to increase.
We are looking for a Junior Capture and Production Artist to join our Content Library as we seek to scan the world. As an integral part of this new and growing team you will work under the direction of the Content Library Lead and Senior Artists, traveling around the globe to capture scan data using our proprietary equipment while also taking assets through our production pipeline for release in the library.
What you'll be doing
- Acquire data of the highest quality around the world, constantly pushing capture technique to deliver ideal data sets
- Maintain and operate our custom scanning solutions
- Process assets using our art pipeline with the help of Senior Artists to deliver world class final content for the library that consistently meets or exceeds our standards based goals.
- Learn new workflows and techniques as they develop under mentorship from Senior Artists and be willing to receive regular feedback on quality.
- Polish and vet the work of external contractors, provide, document and communicate feedback.
What we're looking for
- Experience as a 3D, Environment, Prop or Material Artist in AAA games, VFX, or equivalent internship experience. We will consider candidates with limited experience if they meet the following requirements.
- Excellent 3D art skills, attention to detail, intimate knowledge of PBR standards and material creation, game and vfx budgets, texel density, etc.
- Highly proficient in major DCCS, especially Substance Designer, Painter, zbrush, and Houdini
- Portfolio demonstrating photorealistic material and prop creation, photogrammetry experience a bonus
You might also have
- Previous photogrammetry experience, capturing assets or materials for AAA games, VFX, or content libraries (Megascans, Textures.com, etc)
- Previous experience with photography/cinematography
- Houdini working knowledge
