inXile entertainment is an Xbox Game Studio led by Brian Fargo. We specialize in deep, reactive, and narrative-focused RPGs, but also love exploring other genres. Our studio is filled with passionate developers who love making games, and playing them.

inXile entertainment is looking for an Environment Artist that is outstanding in creating evocative and immersive worlds. Our group of experienced game developers is creating a new title that has amazing opportunities for visuals and gameplay. You’ll partner with artists, designers, and engineers to deliver best in class game art. Requirements:

  • Ability to productively collaborate and communicate with teammates
  • Skills in architectural modeling and modular workflow
  • Practical understanding of real-world architectural construction
  • Passion and skill in creating evocative environments that immerse the player
  • Skilled at tiling texture workflows and creating textures in tools such as Substance Designer
  • Excellent attention to detail regarding shape, scale, and proportion
  • Ability to quickly understand where detail is needed and where it is not
  • Experience using masked materials and physically based rendering (PBR) workflows
  • Deep understanding of current generation asset pipelines with the know how to further develop them
  • Strong conceptual and concept interpretation skills
  • Portfolio demonstrating a variety of techniques and visually appealing art assets

Responsibilities:

  • Create benchmark environment structures and surfaces that set high visual and technical standards
  • Imagine, craft, and produce art assets that range from realistic to slightly stylized
  • Work closely with the Leads Environment Artist to ensure the vision of the game is achieved
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary departments to hit visual and functional goals

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Training and tutoring skills are a plus
  • Deep understanding of architectural styles and history
  • Houdini and asset creation for Unreal
  • Experience working on a first and\or third person game
