BUSINESS PLANNING ANALYST - SINGAPORE
Summary of Role Purpose
We’re looking for a skilled and passionate Business Planning Analyst to work in the global 2K Analytics group, based out of our Singapore office. This role will be responsible for both leading regional product & marketing analytics and heavily contributing to the strategy and execution of 2K’s International business. This role will sit alongside and partner closely with 2K’s regional marketing teams, understanding and delivering against their strategic and analytical needs by leveraging the power of our multi-dimensional datasets, which include, but are not limited to, gameplay, behavioral, financial and marketing data. The right candidate will harness all of this powerful data to create a detailed forensic understanding of our business and its drivers on a regional and territory-level, informing our business strategy, tactics and outcomes. Job Responsibilities:
- Analyzing gameplay and sales data to extract compelling and actionable business insights and communicate your strategic findings and recommendations with various stakeholders including executives
- Analyzing gameplay and economy telemetry data to understand how feature, content, and balance adjustments are impacting overall player experience, before and after the product launches
- Partnering with the regional teams to align on goals, analyze performance, and develop optimized pricing and sales strategies for our digital and physical products
- Support regional orqwganizational strategy by developing and delivering presentations detailing business issues, objectives and opportunities based on internal, retailer and market-level data
- Testing engagement and monetization strategies around our live service offerings for different regions partnering with the monetization team
- Establishing and distributing regular performance reports and dashboards.
- Work with the analytics team to modify forecasting models and analyze the impact of various marketing activities on sales/forecasts for each region
- Collaborate with the other members of the analytics team to bring the gameplay and marketing data together and build predictive models for customer segmentation and campaign optimization
- Relay and execute the Asia regional strategy to drive market share and revenue
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis to correctly position products
- Ensure capture of Operational metrics and Business statistics for analysis and use in optimization of products and future offerings
- Capture knowledge and best practices for the region and formulate internal methodologies and processes
Keys to Success in this Role
The ideal candidate is, first and foremost, passionate about gaming and analytics-driven decision-making. She/he is methodical (but agile), objective- and hypothesis-driven, comfortable parsing large data sets (but experienced enough to know how much data is actually required and where in the data to look for each answer), rigorous in testing hypotheses, and eager to uncover actionable insights that help move the needle for 2K.
The ideal candidate must have a solid understating of video games and the industry to make sense of the data, extract an interesting and actionable learning, communicate his/her findings and influence the business decisions. Being a solution oriented, creative problem solver and self-starter with passion and enthusiasm to drive the results for meaningful changes are also going to be very critical for this role.
Job Requirements:
- B.A. or B.S. in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering Sciences (or in another quantitative discipline) – MBA is a big plus.
- 5+ years of experience in analytics with large, complex and multi-dimensional data sets with some management experience
- Excellent communication skills, with a proven track record of working across all levels of the organization – having the information is one thing, you must be able to disseminate and educate
- Expert in relational databases, SQL (experience with Vertica and/or Redshift is a big plus) or experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig or other NoSQL DBs
- Experience with working with financial and behavioral/engagement data
- Strong Excel (incl. VBA macros, pivot tables, vlookups, etc.) and PowerPoint skill required
- Experience with data visualization tools, Tableau preferred
- Knowledge of online business technologies, community management, key properties, markets facts and trends etc.
- Ability to capture knowledge, translate this into new and improved processes & best practices and communicate this internally
- Demonstrated ability in influencing multi-cultural teams
- Ability to define, measure and analyze business and operational objectives
- Video games industry experience is strongly preferred
