Role: Business Intelligence Analyst / Engineer
We are looking for a Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer to join the Data Engineering team and help our stakeholders make smart, data driven decisions by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format. We are focused on providing self-service analytics through visualizations and interactive tools.
The ideal candidate is a curious self-starter with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality technical content, drive complex documentation projects, collaborate with technologists and subject matter experts, and have a high tolerance for ambiguity and a bias toward action
Role Responsibilities
- Involved in the development life cycle from eliciting and understanding business requirements to brainstorming ideas to design quality interactive data visualizations that deal with data complexity with elegance
- Develop meaningful, efficient dashboards and visualizations using Tableau
- Build interactive filters, parameters and calculations for preparing dashboards and worksheets in Tableau
- Build and edit SQL queries for Tableau data source creation
- Manage ad hoc analysis requests, preparation, and presentation of insights leveraging the engineering team to help answer business stakeholder questions and support their objectives
- Build close relationships with business stakeholders and act as a liaison between business users and data engineers to deliver scalable end-to-end solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other business/analytical disciplines
- Strong hands-on experience working on Tableau
- 2+ years of experience writing and optimizing highly efficient SQL queries
- proficiency in Microsoft Excel and statistical analysis tools
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate across business areas
