Who we’re looking for:
Skillz is looking for an experienced strategic and data-driven leader to build and grow a revenue strategy and planning team that will define and plan for company growth. This person will have an opportunity to develop this function from the ground up with a wide ranging remit and opportunity to make a big impact driving business strategy across critical revenue functions.
Reporting to the Global Head of Revenue Strategy, you will own all aspects of long term growth planning and strategic development inclusive of developing new revenue levers, international expansion, and new vertical exploration.
You will partner cross-functionally, working closely with key organization leaders and stakeholders including your Revenue org counterparts, FP&A, Marketing, Product, and Operations and you will be a key partner to executive management.
What You Will Do :
- Responsible for owning the strategy, forecasting, requirements development, and landscape analysis to support business expansion, revenue model innovation and vertical exploration - this should include competitive intelligence, industry analysis, and market dynamics and trends
- Build buy-in and inspire others cross-functionally (marketing, content, product, operations, etc.) with your vision and help bring key growth initiatives to market
- Communicate effectively to all levels & functions, by persuasively utilizing fact-based analysis and an understanding of organizational objectives
- Create innovative, analytically based approaches to track and manage initiatives once in-market
- Support company-wide reporting & planning to senior executives both on an ad-hoc and regular basis (including quarterly business reviews and annual budgeting/strategic planning process)
- Build and manage a team of direct reports; provide guidance/prioritization on work deliverables, help resolve obstacles, facilitate ongoing conversations about career development, and foster a collaborative and transparent team culture
Your Skillz :
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with a mix of strategy and operating roles
- Experience in a leading management consulting firm, strategy or comparable analytics-heavy environment,with work within technology, e-commerce, and/or media companies strongly preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience leading teams directly or cross-functionally, influencing senior leadership, and managing multiple projects with demanding deadlines, changing requirements, and limited resources
- BS / BA degree in economics, finance, business, mathematics, or engineering; MBA preferredSuperior analytical capabilities with a unique ability to extract insights from data and connect dots
- Demonstrated communication skills across all mediums and org levels to drive and influence impactful change in the organization
- Ability to think strategically about entire industries and markets to identify new sources of value and build the organizational momentum needed to seize breakout growth trajectories
