Business Development Director

Gearbox Publishing San Francisco Business Development team is looking for a Director, Business Development focused on strategic partnerships and game sourcing initiatives. We are growing our business development team and looking for an experienced and well-connected game industry professional to lead our partnership efforts in Asia. This role, based in Asia (China or Japan) will help Gearbox Publishing SF to establish, manage, and execute long-term partnerships with game studios, distributors, platforms, and media partners across the APAC region.
Annual Salary Range: $130,000 to $160,000
Responsibilities
- Identify, source, and partner with independent game developers for publishing opportunities
- Recognize and establish new licensing opportunities for GPSF and evaluate based on license potential, profitability, and fit for the GPSF brand
- Own responsibilities of due diligence, and legal review of new business
- Partner with department leads and internal stakeholders to research, build, and maintain a product evaluation committee
- Establish and maintain relationships with key industry contacts in the PC/Console games space
- Identify financially responsible and fair deals with external vendors, clients, developers, and licensors
- Manage existing game partnerships on a business standpoint
- Research, assess, analyze and produce strategies and business plans for current and future opportunities
Requirements
- BS/MA preferred
- Proven record of success in video game industry
- 6+ years in the video game industry
- 4+ years of business development experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- International business experience and skills working in a multicultural environment
- High level of attention to detail with the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- Core PC/Console Gamer
