Business Development Director - Games

This is a rare opportunity to join a fast growing games publisher as its Director of Business Development. This is a high-impact leadership role in a unique venture backed company, where you will report to the executive team.

FRVR is going into 2022 and beyond at high speed, and looking to scale up both the quality and quantity of games that we offer accordingly. To do that, we need to work with super talented games studios. To do that , we need you.

You will be responsible for building and managing the business development team. Under your leadership, that team will source and execute partnership deals with the best games developers in the industry. You will build strategies, tools and processes that expand the company’s ability to efficiently evaluate opportunities and smoothly run multiple due diligence and contract negotiations processes concurrently. Ultimately, you will expand the company’s portfolio of games, its stable of first-party developers and its strategic relationships with external partners of every stripe.

Working with FRVR should be fun, both for you and for the companies you’ll work with. Part of your responsibility will be to deliver on this without losing sight of the fact that, ultimately, we’re building something cool together.

About You

You’ve built a career in business development and have worked at one or more successful games publishers. You have a well established network of developer contacts through end to end experience of sourcing and executing different kinds of publishing deals.

You are confident, approachable and understand the concerns of the average developer. You love games as a player too, and are conversant in the latest trends and releases, with expert level product knowledge. Crucially, you have razor sharp commercial acumen and a wealth of experience about what makes a great development team.

You’re a confident leader of teams, and are looking for the chance to grow a new group of talented professionals into one of the best BD teams in the industry.

We are looking for someone with:

• 5+ years of demonstrable success in senior games business development, preferably in a scaled publishing capacity
• Proven commercial experience including financial modelling skills - ability to craft bespoke commercial structures for different deals independently
• An ability to point to deals you directly negotiated and signed (preferably with references)
• A leadership mindset and track record of coaching teams to success

Challenges & Responsibilities

• Managing a small team of business development professionals
• Liaising daily with the Executive Leadership Team to agree goals and direction setting for all business development activities
• Preparing financial and valuation analyses as well as business-case forecasts
• Coordinating due-diligence activities including domain expert interviews, document collection and analysis, product analyses, team structure analysis and on-site visits
