Role Purpose:
We’re looking for a skilled and passionate Business Analytics Manager to work in the global 2K Analytics group, based in our Windsor (or Asia) office and responsible for all product and marketing analytics related to our International business. This role will sit alongside and partner closely with 2K’s regional marketing teams, understanding and delivering against their strategic and analytical needs by leveraging the power of our multi-dimensional datasets, which include, but are not limited to, gameplay, behavioral, financial and marketing data. This role will harness all of this powerful data to create a detailed forensic understanding of our business and its drivers on a regional and territory-level, informing our business strategy, tactics and outcomes. Responsibilities:
- Analyzing gameplay and sales data to extract compelling and actionable business insights and communicate your strategic findings and recommendations with various stakeholders including executives
- Analyzing in-game data to recommend potential creative strategy and messaging with regional / global media and brand teams
- Establishing and distributing regular performance reports and dashboards.
- Providing an internal consultancy service to internal teams and business partners using a combination of internal, retailer and market-level data
- Analyzing gameplay and economy telemetry data to understand how feature, content, and balance adjustments are impacting overall player experience, before and after the product launches.
- Testing engagement and monetization strategies around our live service offerings for different regions partnering with the monetization team
- Partnering with the regional sales and marketing teams to analyze the sales data to propose right promotional, pricing and sales strategies for digital and physical products
- Work with the analytics team to modify forecasting models and analyze the impact of various marketing activities on sales/forecasts for each region
- Collaborate with the other members of the analytics team to bring the gameplay and marketing data together and build predictive models for customer segmentation and campaign optimization
Who We Think Will Be a Great Fit:
The ideal candidate is, first and foremost, passionate about gaming and analytics-driven decision-making. She/he is methodical (but agile), objective- and hypothesis-driven, comfortable parsing large data sets (but experienced enough to know how much data is actually required and where in the data to look for each answer), rigorous in testing hypotheses, and eager to uncover actionable insights that help move the needle for 2K.
The ideal candidate must have a solid understating of video games and the industry to make sense of the data, extract an interesting and actionable learning, communicate his/her findings and influence the business decisions. Being a solution oriented, creative problem solver and self-starter with passion and enthusiasm to drive the results for meaningful changes are also going to be very critical for this role.
Required Key Skills:
- B.A. or B.S. in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering Sciences (or in another quantitative discipline) – Master’s or PhD Degree is a big plus.
- 5+ years of experience in analytics with very large, complex and multi-dimensional data sets with some management experience
- Experience with working with financial and behavioral data
- Experience with multi-channel attribution and econometric time-series modeling
- Expert in relational databases, SQL (experience with Vertica and/or Redshift is a big plus) and experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig or other NoSQL DBs
- Experience with data visualization tools, Tableau preferred
- Strong Excel skills including VBA macros, pivot tables, vlookups, etc.
- Excellent communication skills, with a proven track record of working across all levels of the organization – having the information is one thing, you must be able to disseminate and educate.
- Video games industry experience is strongly preferred.
