Archetype Entertainment is a new game studio in Austin, Texas led by industry veterans from BioWare and other AAA studios. Archetype is a division of Wizards of the Coast (Hasbro). We are building a development team with world-class talent to create a new science fiction universe for our first multiplatform roleplaying video game.
Our goal is to create the greatest story-driven roleplaying games in the world.

Archetype Entertainment seeks an experienced and team-oriented Build and Release Engineer to help us build an amazing, game-of-the-year caliber RPG. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining the continuous integration, packaging, delivery, testing, and other automation systems required to deliver a AAA title.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of configuration management in commercial software development and be passionate about video games.
What You'll Do
- Architect, implement and maintain automation systems, including but not limited to:
- Continuous integration and testing
- Package and patch builds
- Content generation
- Integrations
- Integrate patching, localization, and other technologies into the automation systems
- Implement tools for build delivery to on-site developers and off-site third parties
- Integrate telemetry and crash reporting solutions
- Manage Perforce and Swarm infrastructure
- Define and manage integration processes
- Drive adoption of effective configuration management practices
- Collaborate with the development team on defining requirements and priorities
What You Bring
- 4+ years of experience as a Build and Release Engineer
- Expertise in Jenkins, QuickBuild, or other continuous integration solutions
- Strong understanding of software configuration management and source version control
- Specific experience with Perforce and/or Git
- Proficient in Groovy, Python, Perl or other scripting languages
- Pluses include:
- Experience developing solutions in AWS, Azure, or other public clouds
- Experience with game development lifecycles and solutions
- Experience working with Unreal engine
- Experience with C++ or C# development
