Job Description
The Ideal Candidate:
The new Build Engineer will be responsible for maintaining our Mac OS build infrastructure whilst also improving upon our systems. They will also work closely with the Core tech engineers to write and update shell scripts used to run builds. The candidate will be required to update operating systems, provision machines, and maintain the hardware and software aspects of the build systems. Due to the nature of the role the candidate will need to be able to attend the office at short notice, on any given day and support those working remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Future proofing the build infrastructure with timed OS and software updates
- Create detailed documentation on systems and maintenance
- Updating provisioning profiles and certificates to ensure iOS builds can succeed
- Optimising and improving pipelines and work flows
- Creating calendars of SDK releases and planning/preparing build machines for said releases
- Assisting core tech coders with making new build steps for both Android and iOS builds
- Working with coders to develop and improve GitLab pipelines
- Planning and implementing speculative tests of future upgrades
- Liaise with IT Team to maintain safety and security of build infrastructure
Requirements:
- Experience with Mac OS
- Hardware requirements
- Machine imaging
- arm/intel(x86)
- Setting up machines for remote work
- Familiarity with Docker
- Excellent English written and spoken
- Familiarity with phased rollouts
- Understanding of stakeholder management
- Knowledge of troubleshooting common computer problems

Good to have:
- Linux experience
- Knowledge of mobile SDKs
- Experience with deploying builds to Android and iOS including use of Xcode
- Experience with shell scripting (Bash)
- Knowledge of cloud platforms
- Experience using automatic provisioning software software, such as Munki
- Understanding of provisioning profiles and certificates for Macs
- Familiarity with SQL/ NoSQL database servers and web servers such as NGINX
- Knowledge of Unity
- Understanding of NPM
- Experience with CI/CD frameworks such as Jenkins or TeamCity
