What you’ll be doing

You will be maintaining build systems for existing game projects, while developing strategies for improving and automating the build and test processes for existing and future games. You will be the first port of call to identify the cause of any build problems and will either resolve those problems yourself or communicate with other staff members to help resolve them. You may also develop and refine tests to improve the quality of the QA process.

You will also be responsible for the design and implementation and running of build systems across one or more games.

What we’re looking for

A large part of your job will involve communication with other members of the games team to plan build system development and manage resolution of day to day build problems. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills to assist with this.

You will be part of a game team working alongside artists, designers, and programmers. You will work with the Lead Programmer and production staff on the game team who will assist you in planning your work. As part of your day-to-day management of the build systems you will assist all the members of the team in maintaining the quality of the game build.

Where you’ll be working

Our studio is in Nottingham’s Castle Marina, near Nottingham’s picturesque canal route and just fifteen minutes’ walk from the City Centre. The studio is served by excellent bus, tram and cycle links and the railway station is a ten-minute walk away.

Nottingham has lots to see and do, including a huge choice of bars and restaurants, art galleries and numerous cultural events. There are several large parks in and around the city (including Wollaton Park, containing Batman’s house!), and it sits on the doorstep of the beautiful Peak District area. It has excellent road and rail links to the North and South of the country, with London less than two hours away by train.
