Broadcast Podcast Editor

The Broadcast Audio Podcast Editor is responsible for supporting day-to-day audio production under the Broadcast department from asset to delivery, as well as providing video editing support to our Post Production team. You are also responsible for supporting the maintenance of audio storage and distribution platforms, as well as supporting our satellite studios/teams in LA and Roost partners. You will also collaborate with multiple editors, directors and producers to edit materials in line with technical and creative standards set by each production and those set by the Production Manager, Creative Director, and Broadcast and Post Heads. You will collaborate with your peers in Broadcast, Live Action, Animation and Post to facilitate efficiencies, share knowledge, and create a collaborative environment across all post production teams.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with post, technical and creative teams in all phases of production
- Perform post duties including asset receipt and organization, sound editing and design, QC and delivery on various levels of Podcast, Broadcast and studio production
- Deliver highly creative and technically sound sequences within our company style guides and standards/technical specifications required by film, Internet and broadcast production
- Assist Broadcast Post team with general video editing as needed and your audio schedule allows
- Follow workflows as established by the Audio and Post Production leads
- Organize and successfully execute multiple projects with individual deadlines
- Perform R&D to continue the advancement of editing systems and techniques to improve efficiencies and production values Interface with Post Production, Marketing, Direct Groups and other teams
- Relay the necessary information that impacts schedules, budgets and performance
- Collaborate with other staff to problem solve throughout a production
- Maintain editing software, programs and systems
- Participate in meetings, discussions and other Post team events
- Represent and advocate for the creative team within and outside the company
Qualifications
- Degree in a Broadcast, Media or Production-related field, or equivalent professional experience Minimum 1+ years of sound editing experience in a production environment or full-time freelance Experience with Podcast, Broadcast, live and/or Internet content preferred
- Experience with Adobe Audition and Premiere Pro preferred
- Strong coordinating skills between multiple productions
- Strong oral and written communication skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to take direction and constructive guidance while sharing personal experience to create the most successful projects
- Detailed and organized with exceptional initiative, follow-through, and time management skills
- A passion for creative problem solving and strategic thinking
- Ability to remain flexible and adjust as multiple moving parts consistently change
- Ability to work on multiple levels of projects including big budget pieces but also routine and repetitive editing tasks
- Ability to self-motivate and work independently
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Desire to further improve skills and techniques
- Love of pop culture (comics, movies, anime, games) is a big plus
