The impact you’ll make:

As a Benefits and Payroll Specialist, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to join a growing People Operations team and help us scale the company to double its size! We are looking for a passionate individual who is driven by creating an environment where all team members feel supported and well-informed about all of the amazing opportunities and programs at Supernatural.

As a specialist, you’ll be responsible for supporting many of the key areas of People Operations, including payroll, benefits and onboarding. You’ll be the one of the first points of contact for all new hires, and a key member to help answer questions about our employment offerings and experiences. The Supernatural team is our most important asset, and you’ll have the opportunity to ensure we have a happy and productive workplace that aligns with our mission and objectives.

What you’ll do:

• Process semi-monthly payroll via Namely HRIS in a timely manner for all exempt and nonexempt employees while ensuring all tax codes, benefit deductions, 401(k) contributions, PTO accruals and other processes related to payroll are processed accurately each pay period.
• Ensure timesheets are submitted timely and accurately by all nonexempt employees via Namely Time.
• Administer all employee benefit programs including enrollments and terminations. Conduct reporting audits to ensure all enrollments are accurately reflected on payroll for each employee and their dependents.
• Administer and process all leaves of absences and ensure timely communication to applicable employees regarding eligibility, pay, benefits and other information as it relates to leave programs.
• Plan and facilitate employee new-hire orientation for all new employees, as well as complete new hire related tasks prior to an employee’s start date.
• Manage the HRIS database updates as employee information changes.
• Stay up-to-date with any Covid-19 related regulations at the local, state and federal levels, and support any necessary changes and communications to the team regarding our policies and procedures as needed.
• Serve as the point of contact for all benefits, perks, payroll, safety and onboarding related inquiries including evaluating and consistently working to improve upon existing offerings.

What you’ll need to be successful:

• 3 years of professional HR experience as a payroll and/or benefits specialist.
• Experience managing payroll, benefits administration, and leaves of absence nationally at scale.
• Experience researching, creating, documenting, and implementing company policies.
• Attention to detail and a process-oriented leader with experience managing HR systems, employee databases, and organized personnel file repository.
• Excellent active listening, communication, and presentation skills.
• The desire and ability to establish rapport across the organization and effectively manage interpersonal relationships across all levels of the company.

Bonus points for:

• Degree in Human Resources or related field.
• SHRM-CP or PHR.
• Experience working with Namely HRIS.
• Proficient skills in Excel or Google Sheets including v-lookups & pivot tables.
• Experience in media, entertainment, or VR/AR.
