Backend Programmer, Merge Mansion

That’s where we hope you come in: to take ownership of the backend of our hit game, Merge Mansion, by developing scalable solutions for the game and its services including live operations.

• Relocation: Relocating to Finland expected, full support provided
• Remote work: Hybrid model of office and remote work

Responsibilities

Backend Programmer plays a key role in building Merge Mansion’s backend and services, including tools and platforms relevant to the game, and ensuring they are efficient and scalable too. In practice, this means (at least) the following:

• Designing, implementing, and testing game backend for a single mobile game using C# and .Net
• Driving feature implementation from design to deployment, as well as monitoring, maintaining and keeping them up to date
• Collaborating closely with internal development teams as well as with external partners
• Ensuring the performance of running operations by analyzing and profiling the backend implementation and the related services
• Understanding the living nature of data with the continuous development and updates of the game
• Taking ownership of the backend with a strategic mindset

Requirements

Every role is eventually shaped to match our unique passions, backgrounds and strengths. Here are some of the key skills and experience you should already have when joining Metacore as a Backend Programmer, Merge Mansion:

• Demonstrated experience in writing quality code topped with strong C# programming skills
• Knowledge of Docker and Cloud services such as AWS
• Skilled in debugging, profiling, and performance optimizations
• Hands-on experience in building and operating scalable applications for a large mass of simultaneous users
• Commitment to code quality, documentation and testing procedures
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to coach and mentor others
