As a Backend Engineer on the Avatar Core Services team, you will be a major contributor in a team that scales Roblox avatars to millions of simultaneous players.

You Are:

An experienced backend engineer with 2+ years of work experience
Experienced in scaling up backend system to handle large number of concurrent users
Designing and building web application using microservice architecture
Excited about working on scalable distributed systems
Capable of converting product requirements into software design
Have solid understanding of relational database concept and experience building applications on top of it (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL)
A Computer-Science graduate or MS graduate
Driven, Creative, and a Problem Solver

You Will:

Build the backend that delivers customizable avatars to a wide range of platforms & devices
Work closely with other avatar teams to build new & innovative services crucial for both increasing avatar quality and improving client-side runtime performance
Design and build backend APIs
Scale our distributed systems globally
Take the long view and innovate solutions that solve unique avatar problems
