NOC Engineer

As a Bungie NOC (Network Operations Center) Engineer, your time will spent gathering customer requirements, updating tools, developing new features, improving workflows, and supporting investigations. Your mission will be to improve the tools and pipelines that our frontline operators use in their daily workflows to monitor, deploy, and maintain the online experiences for which Bungie is well-known. Working with our team of professionals, you will interface with cross-discipline IT, Operations, Data, and Service teams to solve problems that stand between us and the swift resolution of incidents.
During these uncertain times and rapidly changing environment surrounding COVID-19, all positions at Bungie are subject to onboarding and working virtually/remotely. Once the studio is fully reopened, most work is expected to be performed in-person at our main headquarters in Bellevue, Washington.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and maintain tools and pipelines using C#, Python, PowerShell
- Translate team goals into actionable plans
- Collaborate daily with cross-discipline IT, Ops, Services, and Data Platform teams
- Invent, extend, and maintain features, workflows, and tools
- Support and improving HA applications with cross-discipline customers
- Owning new projects to address operational and incident management tedium
- Communicate with internal and external partners
- Create and maintain documentation for tools, platforms, procedures, and escalations
- Support On-Call escalation of critical monitoring, alerting, and incident management pipelines
- Implement and Develop custom integrations between in-house, open source and enterprise systems
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Knowledge of core programming principles and workflows
- Knowledge of OSI network model and applied troubleshooting
- Strong communication skills: Verbal and written
- Experience with CI/CD practices
- Proficiency with C#, Python, PowerShell and BASH
- Proficiency with Debian/Ubuntu Linux Administration
- Proficiency with Windows Server and Hyper-V Administration
- Proficiency with Kubernetes/Docker containerization technologies
- Full-stack troubleshooting for RESTful API's, stream-processing, services, and mixed Linux/Windows hosting infrastructures
- Experience with extending monitoring pipelines, queries, and automation
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS
- History of personal DevOps and Programming projects
- Experience with deploying full-stack solutions
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
- Proficiency with Redis Cluster deployment, troubleshooting, and Administration
- Experience with alert correlation & deduplication
- Experience with supporting and developing workflows in Atlassian JIRA Datacenter
- Experience with project planning
- Experience developing RESTful microservices
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL database technologies
- Proficiency with Java or Groovy
