Audio UX Lead

Job Description
Magic Leap seeks an Audio UX Lead to be responsible for the audio user experience on the Magic Leap platform, including the entire suite of core apps and all system sounds. In tight collaboration with Product, Design, Software, UX, and other teams, you will work on delivering a best-in-class spatial audio user experience that is clear, intuitive, and matches the Magic Leap sonic brand and personality of the product. Working with teams of experts across multiple disciplines, you will be able to leverage your audio knowledge to guide the audio design process from start to finish to create some of the world's first spatial computing interactions.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the UX and Design teams to define audio functionality to support new platform features
- Ensure alignment on the scope, schedule, dependencies, and deliverables across teams
- Create and maintain the audio specification documents and the audio asset database
- Collaborate with the Software team on system architecture required for implementation of audio features
- Create sound assets while ensuring functional and brand consistency with the rest of the platform, continuing to build on and develop the personality of the product
- Create functional and creative prototypes, in order to iterate on the behavior and quality of audio assets
- Spearhead the production of all necessary audio assets, including sound effects, music, and voice over
- Work with and direct additional sound designers and other disciplines when needed
- Collaborate and iterate with software developers and technical sound designers on audio implementation
- Conduct the final mix and polish of audio functionality and assets, and do periodic quality reviews of current and developing features
Requirements:
- 5-7+ years of industry-related Audio UX and interactive audio experience
- Demonstrated experience leading Audio UX on a multiple shipped projects
- Sound design portfolio demonstrating a variety of projects and creative styles
- Expert knowledge of Audio UX and interactive audio design principles, tools, methods, and production pipelines
- Demonstrated experience working with and leading cross-functional teams
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-based environment
- Ability to balance multiple projects in fast-paced environment while maintaining an extremely high quality of work
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral, and impeccable attention to detail
- Programming skills
- Experience working on a hardware project
- Experience working with spatial audio
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, or similar tools
Education:
- Computer Science or Music Technology-related university degree or equivalent experience
