Audio Programmer

About us: Ninja Theory is a five-time BAFTA award winning games company based in Cambridge, UK, and part of Xbox Game Studios.

Your Role: You’ll work closely with the audio team across multiple projects, providing support and proactively suggesting and implementing novel audio technologies that help push the quality of audio in our games to new heights in order to create amazing immersive experiences. In addition, you will become the go-to person for supporting the use of existing audio technologies from Epic, Microsoft, and WWise, and be responsible for optimisation and knowledge sharing of the systems you write and use.
This is an incredible opportunity to work side-by-side with a world-leading and passionate audio team to enable truly astonishing results using the code and systems you’ll write. Due to the collaborative nature of the work, our ideal candidate would be available for regular studio visits in order to work face-to-face with our audio team members.

Your Skill:
Essential:
- A good working knowledge of C++.
- Passion for games and audio technology.
- A love of sound design, acoustics, music, and everything audio related.
- Proactively offer solutions, in conjunction with the audio team, and take ownership of them.
- A pragmatic understanding of when to write a quick prototype versus a full system.
- Excellent communication skills.
Your Experience:
Essential:
- Education to at least degree level, or equivalent knowledge, in any relevant subject.
- Professional programming experience at senior or higher level.
Desirable:
- Experience with Unreal Engine 4 or 5.
- Experience with Unreal Engine’s Blueprints system.
- Experience with AudioKinetic’s WWise software/SDK.
