Audio Programmer

We are at the absolute cutting edge of audio technology, working with granular synthesis and reflections . This role will combine taking the lead and the hands-on responsibility to develop sound across multiple platforms and a range of new, redeveloped and existing IP so there is huge variety and scope to enjoy.
Our focus is on experiential audio, so alongside your expert knowledge of the technical building blocks you will be able to push the boundaries in delivering gameplay sound. You’ll be responsible for completion of multiple features of a project, and understand impact beyond immediate context and discipline.
As an established game-audio professional naturally you will be a highly competent C++ software developer and have extensive experience with audio middleware, preferably WWise. This is an award-winning and BAFTA nominated team working at the pinnacle of in-game audio standards in a highly communicative, dynamic World-class team.

Leadership
- Demonstrate good communication & coordination between the audio team and other parts of the team (art, programming, level design, design & production)
- Demonstrate a strong creative and technical influence and take an active interest in each of the audio areas of a project.
- Work with external service providers as required.
Audio Process- Working from requirements delegated by line manager, develop a detailed specification of all audio systems to be signed off by line manager, for creation and implementation
- Working with the agreed specification develop a schedule, in conjunction with the line manager, for creation and implementation
- Identify and report additional tasks over and above the delegated work, that will aid the projects audio quality and/or schedule
Project Tasks/Scheduling- Working from agreed specification and schedule, design & implement AAA quality audio systems and technology to project specification.
- Work with Audio Designers to identify areas requiring innovation and find creative and technical audio solutions.
- Work with other member of the code team (game-play / physics) to identify areas to improve and innovate audio systems.
- Liaise with the Principle Audio Programmer across multiple projects regarding ownership and responsibility for shared audio systems.
- Regularly report progress to Line Manager and notify them of any changes arising in agreed specification and schedule. Inform them of any implementation issues and agree solutions promptly
- Responsible for completion of multiple features of a project. Understand impact beyond immediate context and discipline.
- Assist in the final polish & bug fixing across the project.
- Assist the tools team to develop cutting edge tools and pipelines to enable the audio design team to create AAA audio for the project.
