That’s No Moon Entertainment is an independent AAA game development studio established in 2021 by veterans of some of the most recognizable and critically acclaimed creative teams in the world, including Naughty Dog, Infinity Ward, Santa Monica Studio, Bungie, PlayStation, and more. Based in Los Angeles and San Diego, That’s No Moon Entertainment is creating the next generation of narrative-driven, genre-defining experiences built upon a culture of creativity, collaboration, responsible production practices, and individual empowerment. Our team has an extensive history of working on the biggest, most critically acclaimed franchises with a focus on deep narratives and beloved, genre-defining characters. Our Audio Director will lead the charge defining our audio tech (Unreal 5), pipeline, audio team staffing, and setting the high-level vision for crafting an immersive, realistic world for our players to explore.
This is an opportunity to truly set the agenda and define all things audio in creating a new world with the goal of achieving Game of the Year! You will work alongside the Creative Director, Game Director and senior development team leadership to deliver the highest quality audio experience.
You are both hands on crafting audio when necessary but are dialed-in enough to know when it's time to jump back to the department leadership view.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure all sound assets are in the game and to quality specifications
- Professional understanding of Foley, mixing, recording, sound design, sound implementation, voice over, music implementation and localization techniques. Setting the practices and standards for these work categories
- Define the audio style and how that style is executed. Clearly articulate feedback to the team to make sure the style is implemented
- Specify the requirements for the audio department's needs for tools and pipeline to achieve the game's goals
- Lead all aspects of field recording sessions to verify assets are recorded accurately
- Collaborate with technical leadership to specify the technical audio approach and systems in the engine
- Proactively assist in connecting the dependency schedules from departments up and downstream of your department
- Break down tasks into manageable chunks for clear individual accountability of members on your team. Cast tasks to your team members
- Assist in updating planning information and make sure your department’s plan is fitting into the larger plan
- Evaluate and communicate risk or production issues – positive or negative – to Senior Management and Department leads
Requirements & Skills:
- 5 years working on AAA video game audio. Film/TV audio is a plus
- Proven department leadership experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field
- Experience working on narrative-driven games, features and systems
- Experience using Unreal Engine and Blueprints
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, especially while working with groups outside of the audio department
Qualities:
- Adaptive interpersonal skills, knowing when to use formal or informal tactics and strategy to achieve project success
- Able to "read the room" and create an inclusive environment for the audio team and colleagues in and outside the company
