Are you an Attorney with in-house employment law experience who is interested in supporting Wizards of the Coast's HR, philanthropy, facilities, and ESG teams? If so, we want to hear from you! Our ideal candidate is a self-starting problem-solver who can lead key initiatives in their areas of expertise, provide clear and pragmatic advice to their client teams, and learn other areas of business and law through lending a hand on novel and business-critical projects. What You’ll Do:
- Provide advice and counsel on all aspects of employment law for Wizards and our subsidiary game studios operating throughout the US and Canada.
- Support HR on a day-to-day with such matters as recruiting, accommodation requests, investigations, terminations, and employee-facing document maintenance.
- Advise and provide commercial contracting support to Wizards' philanthropy and ESG leadership teams as well as internal employee resource groups (ERGs).
- Support facilities and security teams with leases, construction contracting, business continuity planning, and materials sourcing.
- Provide commercial transactions support to legal team colleagues on an as-needed basis.
- Educate and train client teams on relevant legal issues.
What You’ll Bring:
- US qualified lawyer or Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school (or equivalent).
- 5+ years of relevant legal experience with meaningful time spent advising on employment matters and general commercial contracting.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a high level of organization and attention to detail.
- Growth mindset and passion for emerging technology, gaming, and the regulatory aspects of those industries (including data privacy, technology transactions, and consumer protection).
- Creative, business-friendly approach to problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven client relations skills, business sense, and the ability to make practical evaluations of risk.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects and a diverse workload.
- Ability to flex schedule in order to meet business needs from various time-zones.
- Some travel required.
