Associate Writer - PUBG Lore

PUBG Corp. is the developer and publisher of the blockbuster battle royale video game, PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS (PUBG). Since its release, PUBG has received worldwide acclaim, selling tens of millions of copies and winning multiple game awards worldwide. Headquartered in Korea, PUBG Corp. has seven operational offices globally across North America, Europe, Japan, China, Latin America and South East Asia.

The Santa Monica, Los Angeles office is seeking a full-time Associate Writer to work with our creative team in the critical development of PUBG lore. It’s an exciting opportunity to be part of the development of the back story and characters to our successful FPS game.

Responsibilities

• Develop original content for PUBG game lore, including short stories for teaser videos
• Contribute to story, lore and character concepts
• Assist senior writers and other creative artists in building out PUBG world/map content
• Scripting, notes and feedback on licensed content
• Generate narrative links to PUBG intellectual property (IP).
• Conduct extensive research on PUBG centered around the game and our community of players

Requirements

• 2+ years working in a creative medium/endeavor
• A passion for video games as a player
• Knowledge of current AND past games, anime, films & TV
• Strong examples of creative writing and/or video reels
• A vivid imagination and the ability to handle criticism and not take your work personally
• Experience and comfort in both working independently and part of writing team
• Produce original work and show scheduling discipline when working towards deadlines

Pluses

• Degree in film/media/game design is a plus
• Background in games, film or TV writing
