Associate Producer

Blackbird Interactive is a creative-fueled, future-driven, independent game studio where the best talent in the industry can find long-term careers to help grow their abilities while working on a wide range of projects, which encompass world-class IPs as well as our own creations across multiple genres.
In 2022, we announced that our studio is implementing a four-day work week as well as supporting in-studio, remote, and hybrid work arrangements as permanent options to our employees.
Blackbird Interactive is looking for an Associate Producer to join our team. You’ll work with the rest of the Production team to support the rest of our team with day-to-day task management, external team and department coordination, facilitation, risk identification, and qualitative assessment. If you have excellent communication skills and self-motivation, as well as passion for our industry and video games in general, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Partner with production and creative development leadership to identify strategic goals and measure progress against those goals, liaise with different departments to facilitate communication
- Supply updates to stakeholders, including status reports, phone calls, in-person meetings, and regular written communication with everyone involved
- Work with existing personnel to determine resources necessary to see projects through to completion, provide motivation and direction to ensure that project goals, objectives, milestones, and deliverables are achieved
- Coordinate, track, and manage the activities of personnel to ensure that project tasks are completed on time
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a production or project management role
- Unrelenting self-motivation and initiative, proven experience managing schedules and employees to achieve desired results
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, able to facilitate and mediate conflict
- Good knowledge of office type programs (Word processing, spreadsheets, presentation), experience with software and tools related to planning, scheduling and QA, as well as working knowledge of Adobe’s Visual Suite
- Experience working with artists, writers, or other creative disciplines
Pluses
- Diploma or certificate from a post-secondary Game Development program, Lean/Agile certifications
- At least one shipped product in game development
- Experience working with artists, writers, or other creative disciplines
- Demonstrated passion for entertainment products / media (i.e. comics, movies, novels, etc.)
- Working with Unity, Unreal or similar game engines
