Associate Legal Operations Specialist, Tools & Process
Sony Interactive Entertainment's Legal Operations team is looking for a Legal Operations professional to support the Legal Department’s many projects, tools, and initiatives. This role will work with multiple internal partners from Legal, Facilities, Information Security, Accounting, Corporate Planning, Accounts Payable, Information Technology, and Procurement. The role will also work with outside vendors. A good fit for this position is someone who thrives on learning new technologies and solving problems in creatives ways.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support Legal Operations-led global initiatives focusing on process and tool improvement.
- Proactively seek ways to improve current processes to increase productivity, streamline workflows, and enhance department efficiencies.
- Assist with special projects and responsibilities as assigned.
- Assist with the testing of new tools.
- Develop process manuals and associated training materials.
- Escalate issues to Legal management in an accurate and timely manner.
- Develop strong relationships with internal partners to best support Legal processes.
- Act as back up for other team members in times of need.
- Day-to-day responsibilities may also include:
- Verifying a company’s legal name and business status using various government websites and online research. Reviewing information and documentation (e.g. company organizational documents, certificates of good standing, etc.) to support verification. Working with in-house counsel to resolve verification issues when they arise.
- Supporting the Legal Department’s vendor management function, including, but not limited to, vendor set up, matter tracking, payment processing, and questions from internal/external stakeholders.
- Entering and maintaining contractual information in the Legal department systems. Summarizing and tracking SIE agreements while maintaining consistent, accurate and relevant data.
- Being the primary point of contact to internal clients to answer routine questions regarding legal support and contract processes as well as triaging incoming requests.
- Supporting the Legal Department’s space planning needs, from personnel placement to conference room build out.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience
- At least 2 years of relevant, progressively complex experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Solution-oriented problem solver who provides proactive and creative solutions and strategies in response to internal clients’ needs
- Strong computer skills including legal technology, database software and proficiency with productivity software including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders to solve a problem
- Experience handling high volumes of tasks and projects
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and successfully manage multiple deadlines
- Ability to communicate concepts clearly, accurately and succinctly to a wide audience
- Intellectually curious and eager to learn
