Associate Lead Artist

Job Description
The Associate Lead Artist will collaborate closely with the Lead Artist and production in following up and validating the art team’s work, overseeing work quality and deadlines, coaching team members, and validating production outcomes while overseeing part of the development of the game.
The main and routine tasks of the Associate Lead Artist are to:
- Create benchmark quality assets to demonstrate visual and technical quality as reference for the art team
- Produce 3D blockouts for the level design team
- Know the game's story and gameplay and understand the constraints to be able to lead/ coach the team
- Create, prioritize, assign and regularly follow up on tasks and deliverables, guaranteeing the quality of the models and ensuring they are produced on time
- Provide weekly reviews on the progress of the team's work and take part in performance assessments with production
- Oversee the correction of the team's bugs
- Work with the other leads and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and collaboration between teams
- Contribute to the development of the game's content
- Be a mentor in terms of technical/ artistic aspects for the team
- Build a motivating work environment that fosters development and creation
Qualifications
- Shipped AAA titles as a Senior Artist, with at least 5 years of experience in the video game production (e.g. next-gen modelling, texturing, environment art, characters)
- Skilled in 3D packages (e.g. Autodesk Softimage, 3D Studio Max, Maya, IXSI, LightWave, ZBrush)
- Proficient in 2D authoring software (e.g. Quixel, Ndo, Substance Design, Substance Painter, Photoshop)
- Experienced in the usage of PBR, its theory and material creation
- Experienced in the usage of at least one real-time engine or tool (e.g. UDK, CryEngine, Unity, Marmoset Toolbag)
- Knowledge of the technical constraints relating to real time, 3D engines, and level editors
- Ability to take direction well
- Creative, detail-oriented, resourceful, and able to work under pressure
- Willingness to improve both his/ her own and the team's performance, as well as workflows, for the project's benefit
- Ability to work in a team, with good leadership skill, and can delegate work accordingly
- Excellent time and priority management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English
- Passion for video games with knowledge on different game genres across all platforms
