Associate Game Designer (Systems)

DIGIT is Ireland’s largest games developer, home to a talented team of over 80 people from all over the world and the creators of free-to-play MMO mobile strategy games. Our first game, Kings of the Realm, became a top grossing game in over 50 countries. Our latest project Star Trek™ Fleet Command, is an immersive F2P mobile MMO, which launched worldwide in November 2018 and continues to top the charts across the globe. DIGIT is part of Scopely, with studios in LA, Barcelona, London and Tokyo.
We now are expanding our core design team to scale along the success of Star Trek Fleet Command. And you can be part of that journey. The successful candidate will have an understanding for numbers, is highly organised, and have an exceptional passion for games. They are a fast learner, highly adaptable and a great team player.
You will work together with our narrative team, our economy designers and combat designers. This is a unique opportunity to move into the game design team of a successful game developer and work alongside some of the industry’s best.

Here's what you will be doing:
- Assist in the balancing of dedicated features
- Assist in the simulation and modelling of game systems
- Work very closely with our Senior Systems designer to support them with data analysis tasks on game balance and tuning
- Playtest, balance, and provide feedback on new game systems
- Conduct competitor analysis and design teardowns
- Curate company-wide playthroughs and feedback sessions
- Use custom development tools to implement game content, including narrative, environmental, and quest design
To do this job, you will need;
- Proficient in math, excel and large spreadsheet/data management.
- A good understanding of Game Systems
- Focused and organised
- Smart and always eager to learn
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A strong passion for games and science fiction
While not mandatory, below are some nice to have’s:
- Excel VBA or scripting experience
- An avid player of F2P mobile strategy games
- Strong understanding of free to play games, specifically monetisation mechanics
