Blizzard Entertainment is looking for an Associate Director of Marketing with 8+ years of experience to help us lead and grow the Overwatch brand. Overwatch, the acclaimed team-based shooter, is a global brand enjoyed by more than 50 million players worldwide. The franchise has exciting plans in store to deliver fresh content and features in the game's live service this year to re-energize and grow the player community. This position will report to the Vice President, Marketing, Overwatch, and work cross-functionally with Blizzard’s global marketing teams to bring plans and programs to life. The ideal candidate will have a background in entertainment or video game marketing, with at least 3 years of marketing a live service. This role will partner directly with the Overwatch Publishing team and Creative Services team to ensure product strategies and brand objectives are met in all consumer-facing marketing communication. As the Associate Director of Global Marketing - Overwatch, you will set the vision and global strategy for Overwatch marketing efforts. As an integral member of our Global Marketing team, you will be responsible for the development of player-centric plans across a variety of consumer touchpoints, including social media, live events, activations, broadcast media, consumer products, and more. Finally, you’ll serve as the voice of both the players and developers, ensuring ongoing and transparent communications.
This individual will need to contribute at the strategic creative level to drive all marketing initiatives and interface with our development partners and lead agency partners while having impeccable project management skills and team leadership. Must be comfortable writing and presenting rationale to help drive consensus across all levels, including the executives.
The position will report to the Senior Director of Marketing on the Overwatch team.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.
Responsibilities
- Help build, grow and lead a team of marketing professionals to achieve best-in-class results, from strategy development through successful execution.
- Oversee global marketing strategy for Overwatch with an emphasis on live operations - deliver plans that bring creative vision to life and drive continued growth with the Overwatch community.
- Monitor, quantify, and develop player sentiment reporting across regions to help guide communications strategy and allow development partners to better understand how their products are perceived and discover opportunities for future product improvements.
- Develop global brand, digital, and social strategies, and messaging narratives to support business goals and drive revenue growth.
- Help lead and develop creative global strike plans, that deliver against product objectives and create synergy across a multitude of owned and paid channels.
- Lead and foster a player-first and player-centric approach throughout the brand, ensuring we incorporate audience segments, behaviors, and human truths in our marketing.
- Leverage data-driven insights that weave in culture, creators, and content to fuel growth among a digitally native audience.
- Deliver innovative, new, and unexpected creative solutions that drive performance. Develop, test, and rotate assets for optimal engagement based on findings across markets and audiences.
- Act as a key strategic partner to a variety of internal colleagues, including senior management, brand and business leaders, analytics, publishing, development, and creative services teams.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of combined experience in entertainment, gaming, brand marketing, acquisition marketing, and creative agency account management (or equivalent client-side position).
- Proven team leader with people and agency management experience.
- Ability to flex between a creative mindset and analytical thinking.
- Passion for entertainment, youth culture, gaming, and particularly the Overwatch brand.
- Experience in navigating across multiple teams with a strong ability to influence a matrixed organization.
- Operational expertise in driving best-in-class marketing projects from ideation to execution, with no detail too small to overlook.
- Excellent communicator in both verbal/written skills and knows how to craft a narrative
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $111,960.00 - $207,270.00 Annual. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
