Job Description
Ubisoft is currently seeking a full-time Associate Director, Community Development, EMEA to be located in France, for its Global Community Development organization. This individual will report to the Director, Community & Engagement, EMEA; and will be responsible for maintaining the vision for the Community Team encompassing four groups: Community Listening, Community Engagement, Community Development and Community Management within the EMEA region.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Develop and drive overarching community team strategies designed to improve player advocacy and customer retention
- Collaborate with NCSA counterparts to ensure global alignment around vision, strategy, and execution of community plans for all Ubisoft products
- Develop, evangelize and execute innovative community initiatives focused on deepening player engagement
- Lead the Community Listening Strategy to provide detailed player feedback on Games, franchises & events to Ubisoft at large
- Develop player-advocacy programs such as Star Players & Community Leaders, in collaboration with NCSA counterpart & Digital Influence Teams, to reinforce players being stakeholders across brands & territories
- Oversee and mentor a large, geographically diverse team
- Provide managerial support to direct reports (direction, resources, tools, staff, training, experiential growth opportunities, etc.), to enable successful management of their teams, unique projects and delivery of community objectives
- Act as a key partner to support Development and Marketing Team objectives while balancing the needs of Community
- Ensure consistent implementation and evolution of processes that deliver effective communications about, and timely delivery of, community projects
- Develop and evolve community models that provide a key foundation for establishing and measuring ROI
- Lead the development of cross-functional, community tools and services intended to engage and help players
- Contribute to the collective Player Experience department’s strategy aimed at enhancing all steps during the player journey, with strong cross-functional collaboration
- Recommend and implement the formulation and execution of the shared budget governing community staffing, content, programs, tools, and expenses in collaboration with NCSA counterparts
- Establish guidelines for best practices around community activities, educate internal teams about competitive community initiatives, and evangelize the role of community throughout the organization
Qualifications
- 10 Years’ experience in building and executing community strategies
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication or related field; Masters or MBA preferred
- A strong track record of leadership and diplomacy, with experience managing teams with diverse skills and personalities.
- Ability to identify and distill performance KPIs with a strong point of view and understanding of which measurements matter most to the business goals
- Team player, with expertise in diplomacy, building collaborative relationships with internal partners and pro-actively finding win-win solutions
- Expert knowledge of the video game landscape and current industry trends, particularly around social media, Esports, livestreaming, and games-as-a-service
- Strong knowledge of communities and community trends not limited to the video game space
- Capacity to efficiently communicate, understand specific needs & establish strategic partnerships both with Production & Business stakeholders
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
- Understanding of software development processes, and ability to relate to a development environment
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
- Problem-solving constructive attitude & adaptative/agile mindset
- Fluency in English
