Associate Corporate Counsel

As Associate Corporate Counsel you will be a key member of Tilting Point's Legal team assisting the head of Legal and providing legal support across all of Tilting Point's operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting and evaluating a wide variety of agreements across Tilting Point’s internal and external operations, including corporate documents, NDAs, contractor and vendor agreements, licensing agreements, and mobile game publishing and user-acquisition agreements.
  • Acting as liaison between Legal and all other departments, including tracking and managing communication about new requests and ongoing projects, ensuring proper handling and escalation of issues, and assisting with summaries of new commercial deals for Finance, Product, Customer Relations, and other relevant departments.
  • Researching legal and practical matters relevant to Tilting Point’s business as needed to assist the head of Legal, keeping up to date on all relevant regulatory and legal developments in the game space, and creating and managing an internal legal knowledge base.
  • Managing and maintaining Tilting Point’s internal commercial agreement tracking system, including analyzing and summarizing the key legal and commercial terms of all existing and new agreements and ensuring all departments have quick access to needed legal dates and terms.
  • Assisting the head of Legal with various ongoing in-house legal responsibilities including managing Tilting Point’s IP portfolio, preparing routine corporate documents, and running Tilting Point’s internal Privacy Compliance team.

Basic Qualifications

  • J.D. or non US equivalent legal degree plus an LLM in US law from a US law school and admission to a state bar is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience practicing law with hands on experience in commercial transactions, preferably working on entertainment (games, audio, film, television, etc.) or digital advertising (user acquisition, ad-network, etc) deals.
  • Highly developed legal drafting, analytical, research, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong technical skills with relevant drafting, presenting, and internal productivity tools (Word, Powerpoint, Slack, Trello, etc) and ability to rapidly learn new systems as needed.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, manage and track the timelines and completion of multiple projects, and work under deadlines.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations and a willingness to seek additional input.
  • Ability to think about legal issues in a practical and interdisciplinary way with a focus on solutions; able to work well independently, but enjoys being part of a team in an agile and non-rigid organization; willing to take direction and prioritization when called for.
  • Demonstrated interest or other background in media and entertainment (love of games a plus).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience, some of which was in-house
  • Hands-on experience in mobile gaming and/or growth marketing/digital user acquisition
  • Experience managing international privacy compliance in the mobile application space (including GDPR, COPPA, CCPA)
  • Experience with IP Licensing and agreements with complex commercial terms
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills along with a willingness to use these skills proactively to create and improve legal functions in an organization.
