Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a talented and passionate associate content designer to collaborate with our design team for an unannounced project. As an associate content designer, you will foster Blizzard’s core value of “Gameplay First” as you collaborate with a team of designers, engineers, and artists responsible for crafting this unannounced project's world.

We are a team of passionate developers that highly values open-minded collaboration, direct, objective feedback, and the eagerness to grab and drive a feature to Blizzard quality. As an associate content designer on the team, you will collaborate closely with design to fill our gameplay spaces with exciting content, while also seeking to match look and feel alongside environment and concept artists. You will be reviewing feedback from playtests and collaborate with your teammates to decide what actions to take. When particularly hard problems arise, you will draw upon the team's collective creativity to finalize a design that meets the project’s needs.

COVID-19 Hiring Update: We’ve transitioned to a work-from-home model and we’re continuing to interview and hire during this time. This role is expected to begin as a remote position. We understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore possible interim options.

Responsibilities

• Design and implementation of new events and open world content from conception to the final stages of polish
• Technical implementation and maintenance of existing events and open world content, ensuring the game’s creative pillars are captured
• Support other disciplines in their integration of events and open world content
• Embrace Blizzard's core value of "Every voice matters," creating a safe space for collaboration, communication, and creativity across all disciplines and departments

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience designing and building game content
• Technically savvy, with an understanding of tools like Unity, UDK or similar proprietary tools
• Understanding of RPG reward mechanics
• Excellent communication & problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated with strong initiative
• Able to work to maintain a positive attitude in a creatively driven, highly collaborative, and iterative team environment

Pluses

• Experience working on an FPS game
• Knowledge of scripting languages
• Previous design experience for Online / Multiplayer games
