Blizzard is looking for a player-centric senior community professional to develop and grow the Diablo community. The ideal candidate has a deep and intrinsic understanding of how communications, content, social media, dank memes, and influencer relationships intersect with each other, and is adept at crafting community plans that cohesively bring all these elements together. They are a dedicated advocate for the voice of the player, constantly seeking to build bridges, trust, and champion constructive dialogue with the community.
Covid-19 Hiring Update: We’ve transitioned to a work-from-home model, and we’re continuing to interview and hire during this time. This role is expected to begin as a remote position. We understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore possible interim options.
Responsibilities
- Add to content strategy and player-facing communications, including active engagement on community channels and reactive messaging
- Create compelling product communications such as blogs, patch notes, presentations and more
- Develop and implement key community initiatives including contests, live events, content partnerships, and influencer/creator integrations and more
- Run content calendars and achievements, delivering content to cross-functional and regional teams
- Help support creator strategy including identifying potential new creators while supporting and building long-term relationships with existing partners
- Establishing player feedback loops with players and dev teams, providing meaningful reporting on community sentiment, concerns, and suggestions
- Track, analyze and report on content and program performance data to drive continuous improvement, optimization, and innovation
Requirements
- High School Diploma, or GED equivalent, and 3+ years of relevant Community Manager experience
- 1 -2 years of experience building communities, collaborating with partners, managing talent, and supporting live events in a related field or on major consumer brands
- 1 -2 years of experience and understanding of game mechanics, community channels, and content creators. (Familiarity with Diablo franchise titles and ARPG’s)
- 1 -2 years of knowledge and history of exemplary product and brand communications and copywriting
- 1 -2 years of experience and in-depth knowledge of current community and content distribution channels, and the role they play in community and publishing strategy
- 1 -2 years of experience working with 3rd party gaming communities and content creators
- 1 -2 years of experience of multi-tasking, and thinking both strategically and creatively
- Highly organized, proactive self-starter, with proven track record to plan and self-manage concurrent content pipelines and programs
- Loves a good meme
Pluses
- Bachelors Degree in communication, marketing, or relevant job experience
- Project management training and experience (Gaming, or Entertainment Industry)
- Proficiency with Confluence, JIRA, Sharepoint, Sprinklr, Wrike
- A passionate gamer possess-ing ample experience with Blizzard games
- Existing strong personal network within Blizzard’s communities
- Experience with mobile game communities and mobile gaming in general
- Video publishing and/or graphic design experience
