The Communications Team is the steward of the identity and reputation of Naughty Dog and its portfolio of best-selling, award-winning games. Our area of responsibility encompasses external and internal communications; as a studio or in partnership with our colleagues at Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE).
As the Communications Associate, you will aid with the development and ongoing review of the brand identities of Naughty Dog and all our game franchises—past, present, and future. This role will have exposure to all aspects of the gaming business from game announcements to press & marketing initiatives, to live-services and more.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Naughty Dog Communications team on a global scale, both internally and externally, and be a key member to further our relationship with our partners at SIE
- Act as a liaison between the team and Naughty Dog devs for scheduling, follow-ups, and media training
- Distill and triage information from Staff media calls to the larger communications leadership
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously and work cross-functionally with departments within SIE, such as legal, marketing, PR and Product Development
- Maintain and drive internal and external facing media schedules for game launches and interview cycles
- Support the team in the execution and monitoring of communications activities as well as day-to-day administrative tasks
- Create communications materials such as press releases, handling media assets and tracking and reporting analytics on campaigns
- Support drafting briefing materials and media messaging, maintaining media lists, compiling coverage reports, and performing media and competitive analysis
- Assist in drafting press materials as needed including blog posts, ad copy, media alerts, and ad hoc press material
- Work with the team to perform tasks at a high quality and on time
Requirements & Skills:
- 3+ years of proven experience in communications, marketing, and/or related fields
- Brings Naughty Dog level of effort and quality to their own work; seeking creative ideas and is purposeful and enterprising in problem-solving; adopts diverse trends, skills, specialties, and viewpoints
- Displays behavior consistent with the Naughty Dog culture; upholds creative, ethical, and legal standards
- Excellent writing, grammatical and project management skills
- Proactively reports back to supervisor and others, as needed, on key areas, such as plans, project status, internal challenges, results, etc.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, and presentation skills; cultural sensitivity to work with a diverse, international team
- Creativity and out-of-the-box thinking; passion, and strong critical thinking skills
- Open and collaborative approach to their work; comfort in a fast-paced organization navigating ambiguity and change. We’re not precious about getting feedback and input on our ideas and value an individual that’s open to asking questions and working openly with various team members
- Ability to work concurrently on and efficiently prioritize a variety of projects. Adaptable and able to prioritise multiple tasks and priorities
- Ability to objectively interpret player feedback and give practical recommendations
Bonus Skills:
- Video Game, tech, or entertainment industry experience is a plus but not a barrier to entry!
