Associate Business Analyst

Cloud Imperium Games (CIG) is a fast-paced video gaming company on the cutting edge of technology developing two AAA titles: Star Citizen and Squadron 42. This role will work collaboratively with the Marketing and Data Solutions (Analytics) departments and various internal stakeholders at CIG.

Our Marketing team builds and maintains the most passionate and engaged player community in gaming, with millions of players contributing to and assisting in the ongoing development of Star Citizen, the industry’s most ambitious game that will deliver a persistent universe of unprecedented scale and unlimited possibilities. We are looking for an Associate Business Analyst for the Marketing/Sales team to develop reports, interactive visualizations, and share analytics and findings with the internal team and other stakeholders to support marketing KPIs. You will be analyzing game player and buyer behavior with the Sales team to determine potential improvements to the user experience.

Responsibilities

• Compile and manipulate data using SQL (and possibly other coding languages) from multiple sources (i.e., internal data, Google Analytics, Mail Chimp).
• Create and maintain visualization dashboards and reports to present analysis and provide insights in a clear, understandable, and valuable way using Tableau and Microsoft Suite to enable data-driven decisions.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to the sales and marketing team.
• Create ad-hoc queries to support the marketing team with analyses and data requests.

• Collaborate with external teams within CIG to quality assure results to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Work with additional teams within CIG to identify data clean up opportunities and resolve.
• Look for additional opportunities to improve the business through analysis and automation of data.
• Assume other duties and responsibilities assigned by CIG reasonably consistent with employee's skills and experience to support the Marketing team in their daily activities.

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or accreditation in a quantitative field (Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Business Intelligence, Management Information Technology, or relevant field), or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of experience as a Data Analyst or similar role. Marketing or business fields a plus.
• Proficient in SQL and Microsoft Suite. Python and Google Analytics experience a plus.
• Experience with data visualization tools. Tableau experience a plus.

• Strong desire to learn, proactive and engaged in training where required.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills. Project management skills and experience with tools a plus.
• Ability to communicate complex data and content to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work in a highly dynamic environment with multiple priorities and frequent changes.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.

• Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees.
