Striking Distance Studios continues to grow. We are looking for an Associate Brand Manager to work on publishing our games and join us in our San Ramon studio.
What we need:
The Associate Brand manager will play a critical role in the development and execution of marketing strategies to support Striking Distance’s growing catalog of games. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams at SDS and with external agencies and vendors to execute global marketing campaigns to captivate and excite our players while building the brands of our games and establishing Striking Distance as a premium game publisher. The ideal candidate will have a passion for consumer marketing strategies and experience executing go-to-market plans at a national and/or global level. They will also have a genuine excitement for gaming and entertainment culture although there are no expectations for the candidate to be a hardcore gamer. Finally, the Associate Brand Manager will be a proactive bridge builder with an entrepreneurial spirit who thrives in startup environment by building relationships internally and externally and establishing processes that improve Striking Distance’s ability to execute best-in-class marketing campaigns.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the Strategic Development and Execution of SDS Marketing Plans:
- Manage tactics that support objectives and strategies for product launches and present to senior management
- Partner with cross functional marketing teams and the SDS studio team to manage and execute campaigns
- Identify opportunities to optimize performance and sell-in to senior management
- Manage Creative Deliverables:
- Support the Brand Director, Cross-Functional Directors, and Publishing Partners to deliver best in class creative executions
- Manage asset delivery and distribution
- Brief, consult, and manage external partners and agencies in the processes of asset creation and distribution
- Assist with creative executions that may include, but aren’t limited to: TV, Trailers, Social Media, Digital Media, Promotions & Events, Packaging and other printed materials
- Support Sell in Process and External Partnerships:
- Work with sales team to develop compelling cases for retailer buy in and support
- Work with licensing and promotions teams to establish productive partnerships and to build effective co-marketing programs
- Execute Testing and Market Research:
- Work with external market research partners and agencies to test then optimize campaigns and creative executions
- Conduct competitive analysis, and post-mortem reporting on plan execution
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of Consumer Marketing experience, preferably working in gaming, tech, or entertainment
- Comprehensive understanding of the full marketing mix and multi-channel campaign strategy guided by a vision for aligning paid, owned, and earned marketing channels
- Proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to take ownership over projects and a creative passion to drive change and thrive in a startup environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and establish a clear vision and direction for SDS leadership, cross-functional stakeholders, and external partners
- Analytical and quantitative skills: ability to use customer data and KPIs to back up intuition and assess marketing programs' performance
- Demonstrated ability to creative projects and asset delivery schedules
- Acute attention to detail and organizational skills with a proven track record of managing multiple projects that exceed expectations while staying on time and on budget
- Passion for video games and the gaming/entertainment industries
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications (advanced degree a plus)
- Full professional proficiency in English
