Your Mission

As our newest teammate, you will work side by side with our Studio Art Director as a key partner in the execution of Weapon s and Vehicle s art in Call of Duty. The role requires you to ignite others both as a leader and as an industry leading artist . S pecialization and mastery in weapons and vehicle art creation is a key requirement of this role . As a leader you will b e the motivational catalyst for the art team. As an artist, you will help define the look and quality of the COD style. In addition to channeling the visual direction of our Studio Art Director to the art team, the role will act as one of the key communication conduits for design, engineering, and product ion.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Work with Studio Art Director to drive artistic development and vision against our key creative pillars .
  • Create concept paintings and /or other benchmark assets that set the bar and inspire others.
  • Ensure understanding and belief in the art vision across artists, art leads, and other directors.
  • Creatively solve visual problems in collaboration with the broader game team including other Directors, Art Leads, and Artists.
  • Take creative ownership over content projects from concept to completion.
  • Present ideas and concepts to other Directors and key collaborators and incorporate feedback when needed.
  • E nsure consistency of quality and vision for the weapons and vehicle art of Call of Duty.
  • Partner with the production team to ensure schedules and plans meet project and business needs.
  • E nsure your team is healthy , well balanced and growing artistically.
  • Actively seek to improve with our content as new features become standard over time
  • Create product briefs and vision decks to share with the SHG teams and/or external partners

Player Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent art portfolio
  • 10+ years’ experience crafting video game art with a specialty in Weapons & Vehicles
  • You have shown your skills in a senior art leadership capacity in multiple shipped FPS AAA game s
  • Genuinely enjoys working in team-centric environments and thrives in a collaborative work culture
  • Takes initiative to solve problems with excellent follow through and minimal/no oversight
  • Experience develop ing unique and cohesive visual style s
  • Works closely with game design to ensure art enhances the player experience
  • Ability to explore a wide variety of ideas that push the COD style
  • Deep familiarity with current industry live operations standard methodologies and innovations

Extra Points

  • Knowledge of photography principals and image correction techniques.
  • Experience playing Call of Duty or Similar First-Person-Shooters.
  • Understands the basic operation of various weapons and firearms
  • Familiar with latest PBR and Scan technologies and philosophies
