A visionary game development studio founded in 2012, Firesprite builds innovative showcase titles for PlayStation platforms as part of the PlayStation Studios family.

We are looking for an Associate Art Director to work as part of a cross-discipline team taking early steps in the creation of a Mobile Gaming IP at Firesprite. This is a great opportunity to shape the early development efforts as part of the Firesprite strategy to create pioneering experiences on new platforms.
The Associate Art Director will work closely with and support our Art Director on a story-driven mobile adventure game with genre defining goals. You’ll be part of a smaller and tightknit team who are encouraged to self-manage and direct.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Art Director in setting and maintaining an exciting and engaging vision for the game
- Work with key project stakeholders
- Assist the Art Director with creating and maintaining style guides for the project
- Review and critique artwork and communicate this back to art leads or artist for a given piece of work
- Look after and mentor a team of artists with different skillsets and experience levels.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Associate Art Director or Lead Artist on a AAA and/or mobile title, from initial concept to final product
- An eagerness to learn new working practices and software but can bring their own experience of best working practices to the team and studio
- A thorough understanding of the latest art workflows
- Approachable, with a proactive attitude towards cross discipline communication
- Excellent and demonstrable art skills with a thorough understanding of the fundamental principles of art
- Energetic and positive attitude with strong leadership skills
Additional or Desired Skills:
- Unity and UE4/5 knowledge
- Experience in a variety of art styles
- Mobile game development experience
- Interests in narrative design and story
