Associate Animator

Animators portray movement and behavior by building their animations from concept through production, at multiple points in the asset pipeline. In EA SPORTS, most often their skill is used to give life to the human characters in the game, but could include props, mascots, and animals. Animators will create emotionally believable characters that allow gamers to work with the game, in a realistic and believable fashion. In a game like Madden, the gamer expects the animated action to be a realistic representation of the action they would see in an actual football game. They also believe that the narrative moments should be true to the sport that is represented.

Your Responsibilities:

• Create in-game animations from a motion capture base that conform to the style and quality benchmark set for the project
• Work with the game-play team to establish and create animations that conform to the design and technical requirements
• Work with the Director, Designers, and Engineers to ensure that all character motions appear as dynamic and fluid as possible in-game
• Work with Technical Artist's/Animator's and Engineers to manage and solve any technical problems that arise
• Tagging and branching of your animation content using EA's proprietary Frostbite engine & editor

Your Qualifications:

• Have experience working in animation and the games industry
• Have experience motion editing and key-framing characters to a very high standard
• Knowledgeable in human anatomy & biomechanics
• A high level of proficiency working with Motion Builder or Maya
• Experience working and communicating with designers and engineers brainstorming and iterating on the results in the engine.
• Solid and proactive problem-solving skills; able to identify issues and help manage and resolve them
