Assistant Producer (Contract/Temporary)
Wizards of the Coast is looking for an Assistant Producer (contract) to join our Austin development team. We are looking for an administrator who works closely with studio leaders throughout the pre-production and production process. They must be well organized, flexible, and have a good overview of the production process. The studio leaders will determine their responsibilities throughout the production on a day to day basis. Their tasks may include writing documents, drafting emails, making phone calls, running an office, interviewing personnel and assisting with technical duties in the office. They may also be asked to help with arranging meetings and events and handling money. They are sometimes asked to chip in to critical thinking as well.
Reporting to the Studio Head of WOTC: Austin, you will work with the other team and discipline leads to define the vision and execute on that vision with perfection. Able to prioritize across multiple projects under production pressures, this person can receive direction -- but more importantly, is able to make strong, proactive decisions, with a focus on performance and results.
Day to Day Responsibilities for this Wizard
- Maintain regular communication between team members, management and other groups.
- Work with applicable key contacts in Design, Engineering and Content development to ensure objectives.
- Assist the development and implementation of new features, functionalities, products and games as defined in relationship with product leadership towards established business goals.
- Ensures that internal and external developers and other production resources meet achievements and receive all necessary technical information.
Skills & Attributes
- Experience working as an Associate Producer on an internal development team within the video game industry.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies, Project Management Software such as Microsoft Project, Jira or similar required
- Prior production experience in online and mobile gaming
- Live product support exposure would be a plus
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience
- Excellent writing skills
- Proficient with PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook
- Ability to learn and master new software
- Good gaming background: having good knowledge of a wide variety of video games on different platforms
- Strong logic, analytical & planning skills, very well-organized, problem-solving
- Responsible, result-oriented, able to work under high pressure and to prioritize multiple tasks at the same time
- Proactive with a solution-oriented attitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
