The Assistant Producer plays a key supporting role on the production team and works closely with senior production staff and the art team to ensure projects are set up correctly, actively monitored, and ultimately delivered to both quality and budget. To be successful in this role, the Assistant Producer needs to have excellent communication skills and strong fundamentals in planning, organizing, and managing project information/data, with a high attention for details to ensure information others rely on is accurate.

Please note: This role is located in Vancouver, BC and we are looking to recruit a candidate who has the necessary visas and right to work in this location from January 2021. Fully remote applications will not be considered for this role although it is likely that there may be a degree of remote working initially depending upon COVID-19 restrictions.

Requirements

Project Administration

▪ Set up projects in our web-based project management system ensuring all key information and reference is present and accurate

▪ Set up projects in our web-based time-tracking and scheduling system, ensuring all project information is present and accurate

▪ Check artist timesheets to ensure they have been accurately completed

▪ Post daily priority notes for artists in the UK when working on cross-studio projects

▪ Capture accurate notes from meetings (internal and client) and publish for others to read/use

▪ Prepare client invoices at the end of each month for work completed and sent

Project/Team Management

▪ Run daily stand-up meetings with the art team every morning to ensure everyone is working on the right things and that they get support for any problems they may have

▪ Work with the studio's Creative Development Director to produce estimates for potential projects

▪ When running an active project(s), work closely with your team to ensure all work is delivered to both quality and budget

▪ Proactively seek to identify issues ahead of time and put in place plans to mitigate said issues. Seek the guidance and support of senior production staff to overcome any obstacles

Required Skills & Experience

▪ Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

▪ Strong organization and planning skills that minimize risk and maximize project success

▪ A keen eye for detail/accuracy and an innate desire to ensure all types of tasks are completed to a high standard

▪ The ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic, often changing creative environment

▪ A proactive and positive can-do attitude with a desire to learn and grow in the role

▪ Prior experience in a similar production/project management role
