ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF MARKETING POSITION

Schell Games is looking for an Associate Director of Marketing to join and help lead an energetic, fast-paced marketing team that is responsible for a wide range of products and services. The Assistant Director of Marketing will work closely with the marketing team, as well as other departments, to develop and execute marketing plans and programs, ensuring that all marketing activities are aligned with Schell Games’ overall strategy. This position will also be responsible for managing marketing budgets and ensuring that all marketing initiatives are delivered on time and within budget.

This position reports to the Senior Director of Marketing and will have direct reports.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Serve as a marketing thought leader, developing and driving the strategy for the company and multiple product lines
  • Oversee all aspects of marketing campaigns from conception to execution, including planning, budget management, creative development, and measurement/optimization
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of marketing initiatives with company goals
  • Oversee website management activities including website project management, content creation, and SEO
  • Manage corporate social media and email marketing efforts, including editorial calendars and content
  • Participate in creative development efforts, which may include working with outside vendors, developing scripts and creative briefs, and performing project management
  • Lead digital advertising efforts as needed
  • Analyze data and market trends to inform marketing decisions and optimize campaigns for maximum ROI
  • Manage and mentor a team of marketing professionals, providing guidance and feedback to help them grow in their careers
  • Stay up-to-date on latest marketing trends and best practices, and share insights with the team on how they can be applied to our business
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers
  • Manage vendor relationships from kickoff to final deliverables
  • Develop and track KPIs to measure marketing effectiveness and report results to senior management
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be located in the Pittsburgh area for the role; local hybrid schedule option available
  • 8+ years experience in marketing management in the tech or consumer product industry with a proven track record of success
  • 5+ years of career coaching and people management experience
  • Ability to write and edit content
  • Experience in handling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong strategic planning and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams
  • Experience developing and managing budgets

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Full-cycle event management experience (trade show management experience preferable)
  • Content marketing management experience
    • Game industry experience preferred
  • Ability to travel occasionally

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field preferred, not required
