Artiste Technique - Technical Artist

L’artiste technique offre du support au département d’animation. Il travaillera de pair avec les artistes afin d’offrir un support direct. Il se rapportera au Superviseur CG Animation pour discuter et appliquer les processus de pipes et remédier aux problèmes récurrents.

Responsabilités

• Débogue de scènes.
• Définit un flux de travail approprié et renforce les meilleures pratiques
• Aide à mettre en place une bonne utilisation des rigs qui seront conviviaux pour les pipelines et axés sur la livraison de scènes propres aux départements en aval.
• Aide à documenter ces meilleures pratiques via notre wiki interne.

Job overview

The Technical Artist will provide support to the animation department. He will work closely with the artists to offer immediate and direct support. He will report to the Animation CG Supervisor to discuss and apply pipeline processes and fix the recurrent problems that may occur.

Responsibilities

• Debug scenes.
• Define a proper workflow and reinforce best practices.
• Needs to help implement good usage of the rigs that will be pipeline friendly and with the focus of providing clean scenes to the downstream departments.
• Help document these best practices through our internal wiki.
• Possibility of animating shots.

Qualifications

• Formation généraliste avec un intérêt pour l'animation.
• Connaissance de base du rigging.
• Connaissance de base des différentes étapes de l'animation (bloc, spline, polissage).
• Bon résolveur de problèmes et intéressé par les aspects techniques du pipeline.
• Maya, Linux (un plus), Shotgrid (un plus).
• Connaissances en codage non nécessaire. Une formation sera donnée afin de familiariser l’artiste technique avec notre pipeline.
• Travail d’équipe, bonne communication, capable d’expliquer les problèmes rencontrés et les potentielles solutions.

Profile

• Generalist background with an interest in animation.
• Basic knowledge of rigging.
• Basic knowledge of the different steps in animation (block, spline, polish).
• Good problem solver and interested in the technical aspects of the pipeline.
• Maya, Linux (a plus), Shotgrid (a plus)
• No coding necessary and training will be provided to get familiar with our pipeline
• Soft skills: team player, ability to explain the problem faced and how to solve it
