Artiste IU / UI Artist (Intermediate or Senior)

TITRE: Artiste UI

Relève du : Lead UI / UX Designer

Sommaire: Définir, communiquer, créer et entretenir l’interface graphique d’un jeu

FONCTIONS:

• Être le principal acteur et la personne responsable de la création des interfaces graphiques
• Créer des images conceptuelles pour illustrer l’apparence et la perception de l’UI
• Collaborer avec les différents membres de l’équipe pour définir un UI robuste qui élèvera la direction créative, l’histoire et le concept du jeu et de la franchise
• Créer les esquisses, tester l’enchaînement et tous les aspects de l’interaction du joueur avec le jeu
• Travailler étroitement avec les programmeurs pour rendre l’interface fonctionnelle
• Porter une attention pointilleuse aux moindres détails

EXPÉRIENCE & QUALIFICATION:

• Diplôme collégial ou universitaire en design graphique, art du jeu, illustration ou formation équivalente
• Intermédiaire : Une expérience de 3 à 5 ans en tant qu’artiste UI
• Senior : Une expérience d’au moins 5 ans en tant qu’artiste UI
• Excellente aptitude à communiquer, et maîtrise de l’anglais oral et écrit
• La connaissance du français oral et écrit est un atout.

COMPÉTENCES PRATIQUES:

• Solides connaissances fondamentales de l’art, de la communication visuelle et des principes de design
• Excellentes compétences artistiques pratiques: de la prévisualisation et l’art conceptuel jusqu’à la correction de couleur et le peaufinage
• Fort esprit créatif pour l’idéation, l’innovation et l’UX
• Connaissance des jeux mobiles et des métiers créatifs qui y sont reliés, tels que l’animation, l’audio, le design de jeu et l’art de jeu
• Polyvalence et aisance à travailler dans un large éventail de styles et de genres

COMPÉTENCES TECHNIQUES:

• Forte connaissance de la suite Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator et after effect.
• Quelques connaissances de Unity sont un plus
• Des connaissances en animation, animation graphique et design d’impression sont un atout.

• Bon sens des responsabilités, des contraintes et des échéanciers
• Motivation et désir de définir et d’accroître son rôle sur le projet
• Habileté à exprimer clairement sa propre vision artistique

L’ambition de créer du contenu nouveau et bien pensé ainsi qu’une passion pour le médium du jeu vidéo sont essentielles.

TITLE: UI artist

Reports to: Lead UI/UX Designer

Summary: Define, communicate, make, and maintain the User Interface of a game

DUTIES:

• Be the primary driver and responsible party in the creation of game interfaces
• Create concept art for the look and feel of the UI
• Collaborate with other team members to define a strong UI that will enhance the creative direction, story, and design of the game IP
• Create wireframes, test the flow and all aspects of the player’s interaction of the game
• Work closely with the programmers to make the UI functional
• Pay a pixel perfect attention to detail

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

• College or university diploma in Graphic Design, Game Art, Illustration or equivalent training
• Intermediate : 3 to 5 years of experience as a UI artist.
• Senior : minimum 5 years of experience as a UI Artist.
• Excellent communication skills and knowledge of written and spoken English
• Knowledge of written and spoken French is a plus.

PRACTICAL SKILLS:

• Strong fundamental knowledge of art, visual communication and design principles
• Excellent hands-on artistic skills: from pre-visualization and concept art to color correction and polish
• Strong creative mind for ideation, innovation and UX
• Familiarity with mobile games and related creative crafts such as animation, audio, game design and game art
• Versatility and comfort working in a broad range of styles and genres

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Strong understanding of Adobe suite such as Photoshop, illustrator and after effect.
• Some knowledge of Unity is a plus
• Animation, motion graphics, and print design is a plus

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

• Good sense of responsibilities, constraints and deadlines
• Self-motivated and keen to define and expand his role within the project
• Ability to clearly express his own artistic direction
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to think synthetically and analytically

MOTIVATION AND INTERESTS:

• The ambition to make new, thoughtful work and a passion for the videogames medium are essential.
• Enthusiasm for the mobile/tablet medium is a must!
