Uken is looking for a talented Illustrator / 2D Artist with an aptitude for creating brilliant, light-hearted, and fully rendered illustrations (specifically backgrounds and environments) for a new mobile casual title. This position will work with our producers, game designers, and other artists to create imagery that will be central to making our new title feel warm, familiar, and welcoming. This is a part-time contract role; freelance artists are welcome to apply.
You’ll be working on meaningful things like:
- Creating illustrations and 2D art for a brand new casual mobile title with millions of users
- Collaborating with other artists and product managers to arrive at a refined look and feel
- Contributing creative ideas to the game’s overall art style
Your background should include:
- A well developed portfolio of high quality, fully rendered illustrations (backgrounds, environments)
- Expertise with the core products in the Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop
- Unique and distinctive visual style; able to produce work that is vibrant, dynamic and exciting
- Ability to provide accurate estimates and follow through with time-sensitive assignments
- Ability to rapidly iterate on creative executions based on feedback
- Strong communication skills; able to clearly articulate ideas
- Passion and enthusiasm for games
- Prior experience working in mobile games is a big plus
