WSOP Art Team Lead

We are searching for an experienced Lead 2D Artist, who will work as a part of the existing team to create exciting art for our poker game. This is a great position for a self-motivated, organized candidate who will do concepts, art and will lead our existing 2D artist team.

Responsibilities

• Leading/building the Romanian 2D team
• Overseeing the future recruitments in Romania
• Managing art outsourcing pipelines for collaboration with external vendors in developing art assets for specific projects or requirements
• Holding regular 1:1 meeting with artists on the project team to mentor them in their artistic growth
• Reviewing time log reports of the 2D Design team
• Allocating roles to 2D art team members based on specialization and project requirements
• Managing the creation of 2D designs for different types of assets (characters, concepts, backgrounds, logos, FX) across designated projects, maintaining quality, design and pipeline requirements
• Knowing and understanding the features of the projects to make sure they are properly communicated visually
• Road mapping the longer-term view for the 2D design needs
• Creating project schedule for the 2D art team in line with the overall project timelines
• Communicating project schedule and deliverables timelines to the 2D art team
• Define priorities and workflow of the art pipeline to meet production goals
• Communicating project status, prioritized goals and updated timelines to the 2D art team regularly
• Providing guidance to the 2D art team to help translate concept briefings into production art options
• Reviewing concept art to provide feedback to the team
• Collaborating with the art director and all the other WSOP teams
• Contributing to art department meetings to ensure efficiency and productivity of the department
• Contributing to the creative ideas and illustrations to present the creative vision into a concept

Requirements

• Proven experience in leading teams
• Proven experience in illustration and concept art
• Strong general art foundation
• Ability to create versatile types of art
• Expert level of an illustration software
• Ability to quickly iterate ideas
• Strong passion for gaming
• Excellent communication & collaboration skills.
• Excellent organization and efficient time management skills
• An eye for high quality artwork
• Good sense of volume, lighting and materials
• Ambition to learn new things and evolve
